Young People of Haringey Join Hopeville to create Care Packages for the Homeless

Updated: Aug 15, 2020

Young People joined a summer project with a difference this year as they join Hopeville to make a difference!

Young people join Hopeville to cook for and feed the homeless in their local community dispelling the typical the stereotypes of both young people and the homeless

Through our partnership with local Youth Services, we will identify young people who are at risk of offending or school exclusion and/or are NEET and will offer training opportunities. Each young person will learn about budgeting, nutrition, team work, planning and customer service. They will all achieve health and hygiene certificates and extensive catrering training. They will gain an understanding of how helping others can be both rewarding and fulfilling. Through the development of new skills and relationships with other people, the young people will gain confidence and will then be supported by ourselves and partnering agencies to access other training. Stamping out the stigma We will be bringing together disengaged and hard to reach young people with homeless people who are marginalised in our community. In addition, we are bringing these people together with senior members of the community who can support them and help them to develop skills, experience and confidence. In addition, we are giving young people a better understanding of the community and their place in it. We will support young people as a form of early intervention to empower them to achieve a positive meaningful future. Be an inspiration Hopeville....The home of HOPE We can't change the world but we can each do our little bit to contribute to a world of change.
